WESTERN COMMAND OF INDIAN ARMY CONDUCTS POLO MATCHES - AIRCRAFTS, EQUESTRIANS REGALES AUDIENCEPatiala, Nov 11
The Western Command of Indian Army conducted Polo Challenge Match at the Civil Aviation Club, near Patiala Polo and Riding Club. The match was an extended event of the first ever Military Literature Festival being conducted at Chandigarh by the Indian Army from Dec 7 to Dec 9. The Commandant of Western Command Lt. Gen. Surinder Singh, A.V.S.M., V.S.M., was the chief guest at event.
Following the efforts of Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh the polo match was held at the Patiala New Polo Ground. Lt. Gen Surinder Singh arrived at the event in a decked up buggy. The aircrafts of Patiala Aviation Club presented fly past and antics. Thereafter, the teams introduced themselves and played polo match.
61 Cavalry Regiment presented equestrians’ antics and the army band regaled the audience. During polo match Lt. Gen Mr RS Shergill the advisor to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Principal Secretary to CM Mr Tejveer Singh, senior army officers, IG Mr A S Rai, DIG Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, Deputy Commissioner Mr Kumar Amit, SSP Dr S Bhupathi, ADC (G) Mrs Poonamdeep Kaur, Municipal Commissioner Mr Gurpreet Singh Khaira, SDM Patiala Mr Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, army personnel, police and district administration officials, ex-servicemen, their family members, teachers of various schools and others were also present.
